The Good Feeling: A Playful Display Font for Digital Projects

As I was working on a new digital brand kit for a boutique online store, I found myself stuck on the typography. The client wanted something that felt fresh, approachable, and just a little bit whimsical to match their product line of handmade toys and children’s books. That’s when I stumbled upon The Good Feeling. It immediately stood out as a display font with a charming personality that could bring warmth and playfulness to their brand identity.

The Good Feeling is a fun, jolly, and incredibly charming display font. It embodies playfulness and authenticity, which made it an ideal choice for this project. Its curves and gentle strokes gave it a hand-drawn feel without being too chaotic, making it both eye-catching and readable in key areas of the website.

I first tested it in the hero section of the homepage, placing it over a vibrant image of a child playing with one of the store’s products. The font’s boldness and legibility against the background were impressive. It didn’t overpower the image but instead added a sense of energy and joy that aligned perfectly with the brand’s voice.

One thing I noticed right away was how well The Good Feeling worked for headlines and call-to-action buttons. It had enough character to stand out, yet its clean lines and balanced proportions ensured that the text remained easy to read—even at smaller sizes. This made it a great fit for mobile layouts where space is limited and readability is crucial.

For the navigation bar and section headings, I paired The Good Feeling with a simple sans serif font like Montserrat. This combination created a nice contrast between the decorative display font and the more functional body text. It helped establish a clear visual hierarchy while keeping the overall design cohesive and professional.

When designing the product landing pages, I used The Good Feeling for feature titles and promotional banners. The font’s playful nature complemented the whimsical tone of the brand, making the content more engaging for the target audience—parents and educators looking for creative and educational toys.

I also experimented with using it in blog headers and social media graphics. In these cases, The Good Feeling added a touch of personality without distracting from the message. It was especially effective in campaigns aimed at younger audiences or those with a nostalgic, artistic vibe.

Readability was a top priority throughout the process. I made sure to test the font across different screen sizes and color backgrounds. On dark mode sections, I adjusted the contrast slightly to ensure the text remained legible. For buttons and short phrases, I kept the font size consistent and avoided any unnecessary embellishments that might interfere with usability.

Another consideration was the font’s versatility. While The Good Feeling is clearly a display font, it can be used in various ways depending on the context. It worked beautifully as a headline for a course sales page, a title for a portfolio site, or even as a decorative accent in a campaign landing page. It wasn’t too ornate for a professional setting, nor too plain for a creative project.

Before finalizing the font for the project, I checked the available styles, webfont formats, and licensing options. The package included several variations that allowed me to use it effectively across different elements of the site. Knowing that it was a commercial font with proper licensing gave me confidence in recommending it for client work and online stores.

Overall, The Good Feeling proved to be a valuable addition to the brand’s visual language. It brought a sense of authenticity and warmth that resonated with the audience, while still maintaining the professionalism needed for a successful online store. Whether you're designing a children’s activity page, a school project, or a branded web experience, this font has the potential to elevate your design and make your message more memorable.
